Terms of Use
These Terms govern use of the Christian Authors Council website and any CAC features that expressly incorporate them. By using the site, you agree to follow these Terms and all posted policies applicable to the feature or program you use.
Council Role
CAC is an independent Christian literary council. Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, CAC is not acting as a publisher, literary agent, bookseller, church, denomination, academic accreditor, legal adviser, financial adviser, or guarantor of commercial results.
Accounts & Accurate Information
Users are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting account credentials, and promptly correcting material inaccuracies. CAC may suspend access where necessary to protect the site, investigate misuse, or enforce applicable program rules.
Membership, Certification & Awards
Membership eligibility, term, renewal, fees, and conduct requirements should be governed by the published membership rules in effect at the time of application.
Certification or recognition requires a separate review when offered and is not automatically included with membership.
Payment of a review or application fee does not guarantee acceptance, certification, finalist status, or an award.
CAC recognition is private council recognition and is not academic accreditation, government approval, denominational licensing, or a guarantee of sales, distribution, media coverage, or ministry adoption.
Approved badges, seals, and wording may be used only according to the applicable CAC brand and status rules.
Fees, Renewals & Refunds
Before payment, CAC should disclose the amount, purpose, billing frequency, renewal method, cancellation process, refund rules, and any nonrefundable administrative or review component. The live terms must match the actual checkout process.
Author & Book Content
Authors retain rights in material they own. By submitting approved profile, book, image, or promotional content for publication, the submitter should grant CAC a limited license to display, format, distribute, and promote that material for the agreed council purpose. The submitter is responsible for having the rights needed to provide it.
Third-Party Links & Opportunities
CAC may link to author websites, retailers, churches, event organizers, partners, media outlets, or service providers. Those third parties control their own services and decisions. CAC is not responsible for third-party terms, content, availability, purchasing decisions, or independent outcomes unless a specific written agreement states otherwise.
Prohibited Conduct
- Submitting false credentials, fabricated reviews, or misleading claims.
- Misusing CAC seals, awards, member status, or partner names.
- Infringing intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Attempting to disrupt, scrape unlawfully, compromise, or misuse CAC systems.
- Harassment, impersonation, fraud, or conduct inconsistent with applicable CAC member rules.
Corrections, Suspension & Appeals
CAC should reserve the ability to correct inaccurate public information and to suspend or remove content or status when justified under published standards. Where a formal decision affects membership or recognition, the applicable policy should explain any review or appeal right.
Charitable & Impact Statements
Any statement that fees, proceeds, or contributions support charitable initiatives must correspond to CAC's actual legal and financial structure. The website should identify whether payments are fees, donations, sponsorships, or other contributions and should not describe amounts as tax-deductible unless legally appropriate.
